Three Benedict Softball Players Selected For HBCU All-Star Game

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three Benedict College softball players have been invited to participate in the Minority Softball Prospects All-Star Game, which will be played June 2 at Georgia Gwinnett College Softball Field.
Second baseman T'yannah Lake, outfielder Tre'sor Eady and pitcher/shortstop Deyonce Lewis will participate in the All-Star game.
The All-Star weekend will kick off with a career symposium on June 1. On June 2, the All-Star game starts at 7:15 p.m. Prior to the game, there will be a home run derby and a fastest player competition.
Lake led NCAA Division II in total RBIs per game (1.38). She also led the SIAC in home runs per game (0.22) and ranked fifth in the SIAC in runs scored per game (1.11). She was 12th in the SIAC in batting average (.397). Eady led the Lady Tigers in batting average (.408), which ranked ninth in the SIAC. She led the SIAC with six triples. She had a .466 on-base percentage, which ranked 11th in the SIAC. Lewis ranked sixth in the SIAC in doubles per game (0.28) and seventh in stolen bases per game (0.67) and was third in the league in triples (5).
